An optimal transit time depends on different variables such as weights, dimensions, value, type of goods and urgency in which you need the product in the country of destination. After having these variables defined you can have the best option for international transit from a country of origin to a country of destination.
A tariff classification is made of the products to be imported in order to know in advance which taxes are to be paid at the time of arrival of the merchandise, in addition to knowing if you need permits or authorizations prior to importing it.
The main difference is the volume of the merchandise, since the Courier modality is used for the shipment of small packages which will not be used for formal commercialization in a destination country. On the other hand, a general cargo shipment is for higher volumes which have the purpose of commercializing and distributing several products.
To make an import or export, you must take into account among others the following steps: Location of the tariff subheading, registration as an importer or exporter with the competent authorities, approval procedures (if required), international logistics, conditions of access to the market of origin and destination, form of payment and customs procedures.
